Membership sites are the best way to make huge money with less effort. We can see lot of membership websites like BlogEngage.com,BlogMasterMind.com .etc in the blogosphere.
I also decided to start a membership website related to Blogging. SO, I started researching for my new project. I searched on Google, Read some blog posts and ebooks. So, This post is the short note of my research.
Here is the technics to create a membership site on WordPress. I read an ebook named “The Membership site Master Plan” by Yaro Starak, The owner of Entrepreneurs-Journey.com .

You want to consider the following points to build your own membership site :
✔ Protection of member resources from public access.
✔ The method to take payments, member registration and delivering of resources.
✔Features of contents of your membership site.
Eg:- Audio Podcast, Video,Forums, Online Chating, Tele conference, Video Calling, Email support..etc
✔ Email list for communicate with your site members.
✔ Affilate programme for your membership site.
✔ Purpose of your membership site (Coaching, Guest Posting or other)
✔ Time period of your coaching.
You want to choose the best compositon of tools to create your membership website. A membership site is very long and difficult process when compared to blogs. I listed out the best compination of tools to create it in the blog post.
#1: Protect your Membership resources from public access
Choosing of the software program to protect the private content for your members is very hard. You want to password protect your membership resources.Some best programs to password protect is shown below:
- Member Gate
- aMember Pro
- Vision Gate Portal
- iSubscribe
- Member Client Pro
Some of these softwares are bit costly. So, I strongly recommend ‘aMemberPro’ because, it have the plugin to integrate with WordPress and some forum softwares.
#2: Create your Membership Website
The best platfrom to run the membership sites is WordPress. It is easy to set up. You want to buy host space from the best hosting providers like HostGator, BlueHost, iPage, DreamHost…etc .
#3: Take payments from your members
The important part of a membership site is payment. Which means, The membership fee of your site. I hope you are going to create a membership site for earn money.
Right? Because, The money is the second most important thing for living ;). (First one is Oxygen – Little Science). If you are going to give away your resources for free, You have no need of a membership site, you can go with blogs.
It is easier than sites. So, I’m saying about How to take payments from your members…The best option to take payment is Paypal, the most loved “ONLINE BANK”.
It is very easy to use and we can integrate with major membership software programs I listed above.
#4: Setting up a mailing list for your site
I said about mailing list on my blog several times. But, It is very necessary to say about them here. Mailing List is very very very important thing for your membership site.
You can’t imagine a successful membership site with out this. You want to create a daily email newsletter using Aweber, Mail Chimp, Get response, mad mimi, Activecampaign..etc. For your website.
You can notify your members by email, when a new resource or lesson is available on your website. I strongly recommend Aweber, because it have very great support and features. It can integrate with Paypal easily.
It will help you to give more perfection to payments. You can deliver more content and convince people that your membership site is worth joining.
#5: Add different type of contents to your membership site
People give you money is not only for just join on your site. They want fresh and unique informations from you. Other wise the money they invested on your site will not worthy.
You can provide informations and ideas via Articles, Audio, Video and forums. I started audio podcast on my blog. I think you noticed a MP3 player on the top of this blog post (Below Post Title) .
You can play it and listen the podcast of this blog post. I’m using Audacity to record my voice and create the podcasts. I publish them on my blog by using a wordpress plugin named ‘Audio Player Plugin’, Videos are also the important thing.
You can create one video instead of sitting and typing 500-600 words. It is easy to capture a video using a webcam or Video camera and edit the video clips using video editing softwares.
If you have no Webcam or Video Camera , you can create screen cast video using Camtasia or other screen recording softwares. Blogging with Johnchow is a best membership site, contains all type of contents i mentioned above.
