Hai. After a long time i’m going to publish a how to guide on my blog and it will be very interesting because most of the people didn’t know how to setup yoast seo plugin correctly.
Most of the yoast plugin users didn’t configured the settings and they are doing SEO by just installing the plugin. Because, They didn’t know what to do in the settings section and how it works.
So, Here we are going to walk step by step through all of the settings in Yoast SEO Plugin. This article will help you to advanced indexation of your wordpress site in less than 2 minutes.

General Settings

How to Setup Yoast WordPress SEO Plugin in Less than 2 Minutes

1) Title Settings
WordPress SEO has auto-detected whether it needs to force rewrite the titles for your pages, if you think it’s wrong and you know what you’re doing, you can change the setting here. Check this box if your title tag settings are not working.
2) Sitewide meta settings
If you want to prevent /page/2/ and further of any archive to show up in the search results, enable this. Only check “no-index sub-pages of archives” in this section and leave all others unchecked. 
3) Clean up the <head>
Leave all these unchecked and you have no need to use this.

Post Type Settings

It is the most important part in yoast setting. Because, One simple mistake in this part can kill your blog easily. So, Be careful when make changes.
You can setup title and description templates here and you can control indexation of these parts of WordPress.
DON’T Check on noindex, follow if you want to index your posts, pages and media in search results.

Taxonomies

1) Categories

Index these if you want to show your categories in search results.
2) Tags
It is good if you no-index this.
3) Format
Leave this Unchecked.

Other

Other

1) Author Archives 
Check the box and no index this. if your blog is a single author blog you should check “Disable the Author Archives”. Users will get redirected back to your home blog page.
2) Date Archives
Check this box also and no index this, but you want to make date-based archives enabled.
