Because, I didn’t sell any product using my affiliate link and didn’t make any bucks from it. I reviewed many products but, didn’t generate any commissions from it. So, I started to dig into the problem. After doing some experiments and reading some articles. I found the main reason for my failure in affiliate marketing.
Traffic
We need high quality traffic from US and UK to generate more sales. Most of the affiliate marketing networks didn’t approve the leads from countries like India. That’s why Shareasale voided my $202 commissions. Solution : Traffic from US & UK is very important for affiliate marketing and i started to drive more high quality traffic from US & UK. Here is how?
- I Joined many Blogging Communities (Mainly BlogEngage)
- I Joined some US based facebook groups and started sharing.
- I Found many US bloggers and build relationship with them.
- I joined RiseForums and became active.
- I joined social bookmarking sites like Reddit.
- I did some keyword research to find potential keywords.

Yeah! We should select the best product to promote. No one will buy a product from your affiliate link if it have no use for your readers.
When i started affiliate marketing, I promoted hosting companies like HostGator and BlueHost. and i made over 400$ using my “Free Blog Setup”.
I started to set up wordpress plug for those people who bought hosting using my affiliate link. This was my first affiliate marketing product.
But, due to lack of time, I stopped it and dig more into the product related to my niche.
Then i found, BlogEngage. It s a blogging community that help users to increase traffic and authority. It was the main problem of my readers.
So, I started promoting BlogEngage and wrote a review, placed banners and wrote couple of articles and infographics related to BlogEngage.
I made over 100$ by promoting this product, and here is the details of my paid commissions.
Hide Affiliate Link
But still there are some more problems. Most of the people didn’t click on the affiliate link (Human Psychology).
So, we want to hide the long url of affiliate link to a short and beautiful url. eg:- If you’re promoting a product using ShareaSale , The affiliate link will be look like,
It looks ugly right. People didn’t click on this URL. So, you should short this URL to a good looking one. You can use many link shorteners to do this process.
If you’re using GoCodes your affiliate link is going to look like,
http://www.yourblogname.com/go/productname/.
You can change the Redirection Key and count the number of hits on GoCodes.
If you’re using Pretty Link your affiliate link is going to look like,
http://www.yourblogname.com/productname/

Reviews are the best way to promote an affiliate product and we can describe about the product briefly and attract readers to buy that product.
It is the best affiliate marketing tip and me and many bloggers are writing reviews to generate more sales.
Many bloggers are writing Sponsored Reviews on their blog. But, most of the advertisers didn’t allow to place the affiliate link in the review.
If you write a detailed review of your product, it will help your readers to know more about the product.

Add Affiliate Box
Affiliate Box – It is a new concept by Enstine Muki, my online bestie. and his million dollar idea helped me to generate some more sales within few days.
The concept is simple. You want to create a box that describes about a product and place the box on your most popular post that get high traffic from search engines. Search engines is the best place to get high potential readers.
Make use of Email List
You can use Email Marketing to promote your affiliate products. Hope you know that, “Money is in the list“. When i was new to email marketing, I wondered that how can i make money by building lists.
Then found that, we can make money using the collaboration of Affiliate Marketing and Email marketing. Yeah! We can send our affiliate promotion to our mailing lists.

you’ll notice that i mentioned many product in the ebook and used my affiliate link. This helped me to generate more sales without any efforts.
